Biocycle Green Machine Finishes 3rd At Murray Bridge
26/10/2009 9:29:52 PM - Kate Wiese Media

On Saturday the 24th of October the Biocycle Waste Water Treatment SA9 Lighting Sprint team made their way to Murray Bridge Speedway, for the first round of the Track Points. It was a cool day and the team was ready for action for the first meeting of the year at Murray Bridge.

The night consistent of two 8 lap heats and a 12 lap feature race. The first race would see Kate start out of position 2 along side SA 1 Nick Hall. The field was brought to line very slow. Kate had a stumble at the start and was past by a few cars going in to turn 1. The race settled in and the SA 9 ran 4th for the first heat.

The second heat would see the Green Machine start out of the second row in Position 3. Kate got off to a better start then the first heat and slipped in to position 3 behind Nick Hall. In the corners there were some ruts that were unsettling Nick Hall’s car allowing Kate to slip past out of turn 2. Kate kept her position still after some hairy moments getting some air coming out of turn 4 after hitting a rut. The SA 9 finished the second heat in a strong 2nd position.

Going in to the last race for the night the feature event for the Lighting Sprints, Kate was confident that she could have a strong finish to finish off a good night of racing. The Feature race saw Kate start out of position 4. The first start brought on the yellows because Nick Hall’s car came to a stop on in field. The second start saw the green machine move into position 3 behind both the Knuckeys. The track was in excellent shape and allowed Kate to just open the V6 Magna engine right up. The laps fell and Kate finished the night in a strong 3rd position.

After the race meeting Kate Said “I was really happy with the way I went tonight. The cars ran really well and handle the track conditions good. I am looking forward to the next meeting here at Murray Bridge on the 28th.”
